Objectives

 •   Develop resources for individuals, families, charitable nonprofit organizations, professional (financial/donor) advisors and their associations, places of worship, civic and service organizations, media, corporate and community leaders and other interested parties who desire to maintain the quality of life in our communities.

 •   Instill an appreciation for the people, programs and services of charitable nonprofit organizations and their affect on our quality of life in and around Iowa.

 •   Inspire a sense of civic commitment and personal responsibility for the well-being of the community and quality of life brought about through charitable nonprofit organizations in Iowa and the bordering communities.

 •   Promote the value of philanthropy and stewardship that benefit both the donor and the charitable causes they wish to support – the legacies that enhance our community for generations to come.

 •   Raise the level of awareness about the benefits of charitable estate and gift planning through sustained local and statewide education campaigns that reach the general public, charitable nonprofit organizations, professional advisors and places of worship.

 •   Provide residents of Iowa and the bordering communities information about charitable estate and gift planning and encourage people from all walks of life to remember charitable nonprofit organizations in their will or estate plan.

 •   Provide education for the general public through seminars, radio and television, and newspaper articles regarding the importance of community stewardship and philanthropy.

 •   Increase the education and comfort level of staff and volunteers of charitable nonprofit organizations and financial planners/advisors in discussing bequests and planned giving tools with prospective donors.

 •   Increase philanthropy and community stewardship and the number of charitable gifts made available through planned giving.

 •   Recognize those who have included charitable provisions in their estate plans.
