With cutbacks in government support and increasing demands on our local nonprofits, the financial strains are significant and there is no relief in sight. Our smaller nonprofits, in particular, are feeling the pinch.

It is with our local effort, called LEAVE A LEGACY™, where we encourage donors of all means to remember that organization or organizations that have been there for them.

The LEAVE A LEGACY™ effort is a nationwide program with over 140 local chapters, including the Quad Cities chapter.

All citizens of the greater Quad City area benefit from the essential services provided by our nonprofit organizations. These services add to the quality of the life we enjoy as residents of the greater Quad City Area.

LEAVE A LEGACY™ is a national multi-year, collaborative public awareness and education campaign. It brings a community’s nonprofit organizations, community leaders, a variety of media outlets, legal, financial and estate planning advisors, and local funders together to educate the general public about the need for charitable giving and to encourage members of the general public to establish charitable gifts within their estate plans.

LEAVE A LEGACY™ promotes the development of financial resources for a wide spectrum of nonprofit organizations by showing people of any means ways they can make gifts that are larger than thought possible. In other words, we are educating everyone regarding ways virtually anyone can “Leave Legacy”.

This kind of approach to broad-based marketing is generally cost-prohibitive for most nonprofit organizations. But, due to the efforts of Leave Legacy to benefit ALL charities, the collaborative effort among nonprofit organizations, individuals, foundations, corporations, and professional advisors is the largest in the nation’s history.

The local impetus for LEAVE A LEGACY™ has been under the leadership of LEAVE A LEGACY™ Iowa. However, the greater Quad City area and beyond stands to benefit from our efforts. Our mission is to preserve and improve the quality of life sustained by programs and services of our local nonprofit organizations.
